Dr. Ryan Roberts MD is currently licensed to practice medicine in Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Roberts works at Walter Reed National Military Medical Hospital as one of the primary refractive surgeons and serves on the Military Refractive Surgery Taskforce. He enjoys the microsurgical complexity of Ophthalmology and making positive life changes for his refractive surgery patients.

EDUCATION | TRAINING

Dr. Roberts’ career is grounded in technology and medicine as he obtained undergraduate degrees in Biology and Computer science from the University of Utah 2004.  He joined the military in 2004 and completed medical school in 2008 from Uniformed Services University in 2008. After 3 years in a 7-year residency he realized that he needed a change to a more conducive lifestyle for family and switched to an Ophthalmology residency in 2012 and graduated in Ophthalmology at Madigan Army Medical Center.

He was honored to be selected as the Neurosurgery resident at Walter Reed, the only one selected in the entire military.
