Dr. Giles attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a degree in Public Health and Business Management. In 2013, he served in the US Army while simultaneously commencing his medical studies in Georgia. His dedication and passion for ophthalmology led him to complete his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, solidifying his expertise in the field.

With over six years of experience, Dr. Giles continues to make significant contributions to the realm of ophthalmology. Currently holding the position of Chief of Ophthalmology and the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Fort Campbell, KY, home to the 101st Airborne, he takes pride in providing exceptional care to military retirees and their families through cataract surgeries. Additionally, Dr. Giles specializes in LASIK, PRK, and ICL surgeries for soldiers, ensuring their vision is optimized to its fullest potential. Driven by his commitment to education, he serves as an Associate Clinical Professor in Ophthalmology for the University of Arkansas, where he actively mentors Physician Assistants during their military training at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

Dr. Giles’s dedication to his patients is evident through his outstanding patient satisfaction scores, which have garnered well-deserved recognition at Fort Campbell. His passion for enhancing lives has led him to perform an impressive number of procedures each year, surpassing his military counterparts. His surgical skills have even earned him the distinguished “Top Surgeon” award, due to his achievement of conducting over 120 cataract surgeries during his tenure as Chief Resident.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Giles is deeply involved in philanthropic initiatives. He established a non-profit organization that provides free eye protection to local communities and actively participates in medical mission trips. In 2022, he journeyed to Honduras, where he performed life-changing cataract surgeries on individuals afflicted by severe visual impairment.

Dr. Giles leads a fulfilling personal life on a small farm in Kentucky, where he resides alongside his wife and five children. Their household is home to over 100 animals, creating a vibrant and nurturing environment for all. Additionally, Dr. Giles serves as an assistant pastor. In his rare moments of leisure, he indulges in his favorite pastimes, including tennis and pickleball.
