Dr. Liegner stands among the pioneering specialists in laser vision correction, having launched his LASIK and PRK practice when these procedures first became available in the mid-1990s. Throughout his distinguished career, he has successfully completed over 10,000 LASIK operations, addressing both routine and complex vision correction needs for thousands of patients.
His contributions to ophthalmology extend beyond the operating room. For close to 30 years, Dr. Liegner has combined clinical excellence with education and innovation—developing patented solutions that advance both cataract and laser vision correction procedures while sharing his expertise at international surgical conferences.
Before dedicating himself fully to ophthalmology, Dr. Liegner served his country as a US Air Force officer, working as both a research physicist and flight surgeon. He maintains his connection to aviation as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, and pursues his passion for flight as an instrument-rated pilot and aviation enthusiast who builds aircraft.
