Jonathan Carr, M.D.

Dr. Jonathan Carr is an ophthalmic surgeon who is considered by his peers to be an expert in laser vision correction. In his 20 years of refractive surgery experience, he has performed over 60,000 refractive procedures. Dr. Carr lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children.

EDUCATION • TRAINING
Dr. Carr received his MD from Cambridge University in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is board certified in the US. After completing sub-specialty corneal surgery training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (NY) and Emory University, Dr. Carr became Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory where he specialized in laser refractive surgery. His sub-specialty fellowship training is in corneal diseases and refractive surgery.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS • HONORS
Dr. Carr was a clinical investigator in many of the early United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) clinical trials of PRK and LASIK. Dr. Carr has given over 60 presentations at the world’s most prestigious academic meetings and his work appears in many leading textbooks on refractive surgery.

Dr. Carr has previously served on the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Refractive Surgery and regularly reviews research work for several other leading peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals. In addition to performing LASIK and PRK, Dr. Carr is regularly asked by surgeon colleagues to assist in the management of challenging laser eye surgery cases.
