Jon Ellis, M.D., FAAO brings extensive experience in laser vision correction, having performed refractive surgery since 2008. A graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Dr. Ellis has completed more than 7,000 laser vision correction procedures during his career with the United States Air Force.
During his military career, Dr. Ellis served in leadership roles at laser centers at Keesler Air Force Base and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. While leading the Keesler Air Force Base laser center, he helped establish it as one of the United States Air Force’s most productive and cost-efficient laser centers.
Dr. Ellis has also played an important role in advancing refractive surgery protocols. His work implementing enhancements at both Keesler and Landstuhl contributed to improved surgical outcomes, including a reported 96% rate of uncorrected 20/20 vision among patients.
In addition to his experience with LASIK and other refractive procedures, Dr. Ellis is certified to perform ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery, providing expertise in an additional vision correction option for appropriate patients.
