Dr. Craig F. Beyer is a board certified Ophthalmologist, fellowship trained in corneal and refractive surgery. Trusted by internationally recognized celebrities such as Kevin Costner and Tyler Hamilton, Dr. Craig F. Beyer has been performing laser vision correction longer than any other eye surgeon in the State of Colorado. Since the onset of his pioneering work with laser vision correction, Dr. Beyer has personally performed more than 25,000 refractive procedures. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Dr. Beyer resides in Boulder, CO with his wife and two children. He is a classical pianist and enjoys hiking, camping, skate skiing, swimming, biking, running, and skijoring with his Husky named Blizzard.

EDUCATION • TRAINING
Dr. Beyer completed his undergraduate degree at the University of MO, received his medical training at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO, and completed his ophthalmology training at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Beyer then completed his fellowship at the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans, LA where he received a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS • HONORS
Dr. Beyer was one of the first principal investigators in the U.S. to perform laser vision correction and also trained other LASIK surgeons nationally and internationally before it was approved by the FDA in the US. Through his efforts and other refractive surgeon pioneers, laser vision correction has become one of the most successful and commonly performed surgical procedures in the world.

MEMBERSHIPS • AFFILIATIONS
In 1988, Dr. Beyer was a member of the team that performed the first Excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) procedure in the world and one of the first to perform experimental LASIK surgery in 1989. In fact, he co-authored one of the first scientific papers that described experimental LASIK surgery (Int. Ophthalmol. 1991;15:249-258).
