A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Brett J Karlik began his undergraduate career at Duquesne University. He gained a distinguished Early Acceptance into medical school, and earned a medical degree from the Drexel College of Medicine. Subsequently, Dr. Karlik completed a three year surgical residency while living in New York. During that time, he served as the Chief of Ophthalmology for Long Island’s Nassau University Medical Center. He is a skilled ophthalmic surgeon, versatile in performing no stitch micro-incision cataract surgery, pterygium excision, eyelid blepharoplasty, botox treatment, and laser refractive vision correction. His current wave-front certifications include the LADARVision 4000 and VISX STAR S4 excimer laser platforms. Dr. Karlik is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
