Dr. Amacher is a board certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye diseases including dry eyes, diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, pterygium, and macular degeneration. Additionally, he has expertise in no stitch cataract surgery, the latest lens replacement technology (IOLs), LASIK vision correction, and the placement of the Visian ICL. He earned his undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Brigham Young University, and afterwards earned his medical doctorate at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the “West Point” of medicine, located in Bethesda, Maryland. His Transitional Internship and Ophthalmology Residency were completed at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA where he also acted as Chief Resident.

His honorable service in the U.S. Army provided Dr. Amacher an uncommon wealth of experience. He provided laser corrective eye surgery for hundreds of our men and women in uniform. He served as part of the teaching staff of the world renowned Walter Reed Army Medical Center, training future Ophthalmologists in medical and surgical care. While serving in Iraq he was awarded the Army Commendation medal with “V” device for valor in wartime. Dr. Amacher also had the opportunity to “give back” by participating in Humanitarian efforts in Honduras, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.

Dr. Amacher has now made Las Vegas his home, bringing with him vast experience and a caring bedside manner. He speaks Spanish fluently, and enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.
