The LASIK Vision Institute® Launches New, State-of-the-Art Laser Technology to Further Enhance its Patient Experience

Summary: The LASIK Vision Institute (LVI) has upgraded its existing excimer lasers to the Alcon WaveLight® EX500. The fastest refractive platform in the United States, the Alcon WaveLight® EX500 offers wide treatment capabilities, improved patient comfort and outcomes better than or equal to existing technologies.

(West Palm Beach, FL) The LASIK Vision Institute (LVI) has upgraded its excimer lasers to the Alcon WaveLight® EX500. WaveLight® refractive technology combines newer surgical advancements into a LASIK procedure personalized for each patient, enhancing their vision and enabling them to enjoy more activities without the need for contacts or glasses.

While delivering outcomes equal to or better than current refractive outcomes, the WaveLight® EX500 is the fastest refractive platform available in the United States today. With a repetition rate of 500 Hz, which translates to approximately 1.4 seconds per diopter, the upgrade will allow LVI’s expert surgeons to treat patients even faster and more comfortably than ever before.

LVI’s upgraded equipment will also improve the overall patient experience, delivering a faster procedure and more comfortable bed than previously available. For LVI’s industry-leading surgeons, the WaveLight® EX500 also delivers improved sensitivity to patient eye movement and reduced patient fixation fatigue.

The new platform offers the widest treatment capabilities in the industry, from -12D myopia with -6D astigmatism to +6D hyperopia with +5D astigmatism, along with 6 diopters of mixed astigmatism.

“Innovation is all around us,” said LVI CEO Ben Cook. “Providing our patients with safe, effective vision correction requires LVI to keep pace. That is why we chose the WaveLight® EX500. This upgrade will help our industry-leading surgeons continue to provide safe, effective vision correction for patients who qualify.  As the world’s leading provider of LASIK vision correction, The LASIK Vision Institute not only invests in the most state-of-the-art technology available, but also in the well-being, comfort and satisfaction of our customers.”

Individuals interested in learning more about LASIK are invited to schedule a free, no-obligation consultation to determine if they are suitable candidates for the procedure.
