Dr. Michael E. Granberry is a highly-skilled and well-respected LASIK surgeon who has performed over 70,000 surgeries. Dr. Granberry is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson and completed his internship in general surgery at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he was recognized for excellence in surgical teaching. He remained at the Mayo Clinic and completed a residency in ophthalmology.
Dr. Granberry was involved in biomedical research at the Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson and The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. He has several publications and presentations to his credit and has received several research awards.
He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Jensen is a native of Salt Lake City and has been practicing ophthalmology for the past six years. In addition to general ophthalmology, Dr. Jensen specializes in laser correction surgery.
Dr. Jensen’s formal education has been extensive, with him receiving his undergraduate degree and a Juris Doctor degree in law from Brigham Young University. He graduated from medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Jensen has been a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Medical Association along with memberships in the Utah Ophthalmologic Society and the Utah Medical Association. He is medical board certified.
Dr. Jensen has received additional training and certification in the field of LASIK surgery. He stays on the cutting edge of new development and techniques in this field. He has performed several thousand laser vision surgeries with excellent results and is happy to help you improve your vision.
Dr. John Khoury has published extensively on refractive surgery. His first peer reviewed publication comparing LASIK to PRK dates back to 1995, when he was a Cornea fellow at the prestigious Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute at Johns Hopkins University. His most recent peer reviewed publication discusses the relatively recent use of mitomycin C in PRK surgery (Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2007). As such, Dr. Khoury has witnessed and contributed to the full circle of refractive surgery. Moreover, Dr. Khoury has presented dozens of scientific papers on refractive surgery both nationally and internationally, and has several book chapters on refractive surgery to his credit.
Dr. Khoury's surgical experience is extensive having performed several thousands LASIK and PRK procedures, including LASIK/PRK on family, friends, surgeons, doctors, other professionals, and dignitaries. He has also performed LASIK on severely traumatized and challenging eyes, and has published his experience in the esteemed Journal of Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Khoury is double-fellowship trained in refractive surgery, cornea, and external eye diseases from Johns Hopkins University and Washington University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University and has received his internship from Yale University.
Dr. Khoury is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and belongs to several ophthalmological societies. He is certified on several laser platforms.
John J. Kownacki, M.D. is a highly skilled and experienced eye surgeon. Dr. Kownacki received his M.D. degree and performed his ophthalmology residency at St. Louis University. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was the Chief Ophthalmologist for the Air Force at Davis- Monthan AFB. He has performed studies in the field of refractive surgery and practices the latest technologies using the most up-to-date equipment.
He was certified on the first excimer laser approved in the U.S. in 1995, is now certified on the latest wavefront excimer lasers, and has performed more than 25,000 LASIK procedures. He was the first surgeon in California to perform the newest FDA approved Custom Ablation treatment. He is so confident in the LASIK procedure that he has had LASIK himself, and performed LASIK on his wife, father, mother, brothers and father-in-law. For nine years, Dr. Marshall was in the Air Force, where she performed cataract surgery and LASIK on our nation’s top guns—now she does this in private practice. She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and has performed ocular surgery since 2000, including laser treatments for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and secondary cataracts (YAG capsulotomy). She also performs cataract surgery, refractive lens exchanges, and laser vision correction surgeries, including PRK and LASIK.
Dr. Marshall graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in 1993. She went to Georgetown University in Washington, DC for medical school, earning her M.D. in 1997, and then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After Internship, Dr. Marshall served two years as a flight surgeon for a T-38 squadron. Thereafter, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in 2003. Dr. Marshall moved to Colorado Springs in 2003, when she started working at the Air Force Academy and was an integral part of the Air Force’s Warfighter Corneal Refractive Program, performing almost 2000 LASIK eye surgeries. She later left the Air Force and joined Eye Associates of Colorado Springs in 2006.
Dr. Marshall spent most of her childhood in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She now lives in Northern Colorado Springs with her husband, their two children (born in 2004 and 2006) and a Boston Terrier. She is an Active member of the Junior League of Colorado Springs and a member of eWomenNetwork. The Marshalls enjoy traveling and spending time together as a family.
Dr. Leonard Newman is a cornea/refractive surgery specialist trained at Yale University School of Medicine. He attended Georgetown Medical School and has mentored numerous physicians on the intricacies of laser eye surgery. Since then, he has performed thousands of laser vision correction procedures. The laser manufacturer, VISX, has selected him to perform investigational studies on a new refractive surgery technology called Wavefront Analysis, which will be used for the next generation laser. Dr. Newman is certified on several lasers, including tracking lasers by VISX, the Nidek scanning laser, and the Summit Apex Plus.
Dr. Newman graduated from Georgetown University. He completed internships at Alameda County Medical Center and the Department of Medicine. His ophthalmology residency was completed at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Newman completed several fellowships at Cornea / Refractive Surgery, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and Yale School of Medicine.
