Dr. January has dedicated his career to refractive surgery. His PRK and LASIK
experience dates back to 1996. Dr. January is a board certified ophthalmic surgeon with memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completing his ophthalmology residency at Emory University, Dr. January helped found refractive surgery centers throughout the southeast (Orlando, Atlanta, Greenville, Nashville, Biloxi, Houston, San Antonio and El Paso).

As a superlative doctor, he was voted by his medical school faculty as the graduate "most likely to make a significant contribution to the field of medicine." His research as been published in various veterinary and medical publications. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has honored him with the Lifelong Education Award.

He is a member of an elite group of scholarly physicians known as Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Having performed more than 90,000 refractive surgery procedures and currently performing nearly 600 LASIK surgeries per month, he is considered by his peers to be one of the most prolific and experienced refractive surgeons in the world. He has been on KRIV Fox TV Houston multiple times for his opinion on medical topics.
